St Johns Wood Overview
In the Middle Ages, St. John's Wood actually comprised of woodland. This forest was known to have been the hiding place for Anthony Babington, after it was brought to light, the plan to place Mary Queen of Scots on the throne and to murder Queen Elizabeth. St John's Wood continued to develop through the 17th and 18th centuries and eventually Regent's Canal moved through the area.
St John’s Wood is a well established residential area with numerous amenities which includes shopping and leisure facilities. The high street has a great selection of restaurants, shops and bars.
